Fluvanna Dive Center

I was so impressed with the Fluvanna Dive Center on this adventure! Even though I went as a non diver this group was so welcoming and Larry even got me a scuba intro lesson with Peter at the Dive shop. Due to that experience I've decided to get my scuba certification at the Fluvanna Dive Center and get signed up for future dives. Excellent experience with the Fluvanna Dive Center! 

Cozumel - JANUARY 2026

Great trip planned for diving off of Beaufort, NC.  Unfortunately, a nor’ easter happened and we got blown out.   Why am I giving it five stars?   Anyone who dives the east coast knows you get blown out a fair amount of the time.  What made this five stars was the cancellation call was made early (kudos to the organizer and dive provider) meaning we didn’t have to drive down only to stay one night and drive back home, and we got our full payment back.   That’s five stars.  

North Carolina Wreck Diving & Treasure Hunt - OCTOBER 2025

this is a great trip and some of the best diving in the USA. the trip leader is very knowledgeable about both the local marine life and very knowledgeable about the historical ship wrecks that are offshore. not many places in the world that you can dive a WWI and WWII shipwreck in the same day. the marine life is rich and bountiful.

This includes compass, lift bags, reels, BCD, Regulator, Wetsuit, hood, gloves, fins, booties, masks etc. 

All Dive Gear Necessary

$30 add on if desired. (must have Nitrox Certification)

Nitrox 

Your dive pro will be at the lake by 8:30 am. You can arrive any time after that. When you check in at the shop, they will show you where our pavilion is. We will have your tank at the pavilion. This fee covers all entrance and air costs. You will not need to pay anything once you are at the lake.

Clay Overholt is a PADI IDC Staff Instructor as well as an Underwater Criminal Investigation (UCI) Instructor. He has 30 years of public safety and search and recovery experience along with 20 years of general commercial dive experience. He will create and supervise fun dive skill challenges with emphasis on safety, leadership, and mission-style problem solving in the water.

Dive Skill Challenges

We have to hire a dive professional and make reservations to create a fun and safe environment. This takes advanced planning. When you register for one of our dive days, and have to cancel for any reason, please try and do it at least 48 hours before hand. We would greatly appreciate it. If you have to cancel after that, or can not come on the day, please let us know and we will gladly put your money towards another future dive day.

Terms and Conditions

A high‑energy, practical day that sharpens mission‑critical dive skills, fosters trust across units, and provides actionable feedback for improved real‑world response. This will be a great day to sharpen your skills.

First Responder/Military Diver

Enjoy the benefits of diving nitrox for the day. If you are not Nitrox certified yet, give us a call. Only$250 covers our Nitrox specialty certification class. Come in to the shop or complete it at the lake that day if you want.

Nitrox

You would like to try several things during the day, and an hour or two on the paddle board sounds fun. The cost is $12 per hour, so add as many hours as you would like.

Paddle board/kayak by the hour

Getting wet is not your thing. Bring a camping chair and come enjoy the natural beauty of the lake and forest around it while you watch the fun. This price includes entrance plus lunch.

Visitor

On the water but not in the water is more your speed. Grab a paddle board or kayak and go enjoy some peace and quiet on the lake while watching the bubbles under you. This price includes 3 hours of either paddle boarding or kayaking plus your entrance into the park. If 3 hours isn't enough time, it is only $10 more per hour. You can make this addition at the end of your registration under "add ons"
